Rural Community of Sherbrooke

About Us

The Rural Municipality of Sherbrooke is located in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Welcome to the official website of Sherbrooke. The earliest
permanent residents were a small group of
Acadian settlers. It was originally called Platte, and it was
later changed to Grangemount and then Sherbrooke. In
1973, the community was incorporated under the
Community Improvement Act as a Community Improvement Committee (C.I.C).
Sherbrooke was given 5 areas of authority that were standard for all
C.I.Cs: Administration, Fire Protection, Garbage Collection, Street
Lighting and Recreation.

The Community of Sherbrooke is located on the isthmus separating
Malpeque Bay from Northumberland Strait. It is surrounded on the west
and south by the City of Summerside.
